Awarded contract for Sjöviksverket in Trelleborg

AF Bygg Syd, a subsidiary of AF Gruppen, will carry out the new construction and refurbishment of Sjöviksverket for the Municipality of Trelleborg. The contract value amounts to approximately SEK 530 million, excluding VAT.
The project will be delivered under a collaborative contracting model, where phase 1 (design and planning) has been completed and the project is now transitioning into phase 2, the construction phase. The contract comprises extensive new construction and refurbishment of the existing wastewater treatment plant, which was originally commissioned in 1967. The facility will be expanded to meet future capacity requirements and stricter environmental standards. The scope of work includes, among other things, new and modernised treatment processes, increased capacity, improved sludge handling and energy efficiency measures.
“We are pleased with the confidence shown by the Municipality of Trelleborg in awarding us the expansion of Sjöviksverket. Through close collaboration, we have together established strong foundations for an efficient execution of the project,” says Bård Frydenlund, EVP of AF Gruppen Sweden.
Construction will commence immediately, and the project is scheduled to be completed for final inspection on 30 May 2030.

Earnings before tax (EBT) amounted to NOK 318 million in the quarter, an improvement of 49 percent from the same quarter in 2025. The company has a strong cash flow from operating activities and maintains a solid order backlog.
