Avinor is now launching tenders for the operation of kiosk/convenience store concessions with an estimated combined value exceeding NOK 2 billion over a five-year period.

The tenders cover approximately 23 kiosks/convenience stores and one self-service solution across the airports in Oslo, Bergen, Trondheim and Stavanger, aiming to provide travellers on the move with fast, accessible and efficient services.
A service for travellers on the move
Kiosks/convenience stores are an essential and integrated part of the daily operations at Norwegian airports, catering to the need for quick purchases before departure, between flights, or during short layovers. The offerings include simple food and beverages, coffee, snacks, and essential travel items – frequently purchased when time is of the essence.
“Kiosks/convenience stores play a vital role in the overall airport offering. They need to be easily accessible, simple to use, and tailored to the needs of travellers on the move. Through this tender process, we aim to secure solutions that deliver both excellent customer experiences and operational efficiency at our airports,” says Iskra Skram, VP Commercial Development Terminal at Avinor.
Flexible solutions tailored to different airports
Avinor places great emphasis on flexible and operationally efficient solutions that can adapt to the unique characteristics of each airport, including traffic patterns, passenger demographics, and local conditions. The needs vary significantly between airports – from major city hubs to regional transport links – and the kiosks/convenience stores must perform equally well during peak morning rush hours and periods of steady traffic flow.
For travellers, this entails well-organised kiosks/convenience stores, fast service, and accessibility.
A key component of the Avinor model
Kiosks/convenience stores also play a crucial role in Avinor’s commercial revenue model, which helps fund the operation of Norway’s nationwide airport network – including those with lower traffic volumes but significant societal importance.
“Efficient kiosk/convenience store solutions are essential not only for the customer experience but also for supporting the sustainable operation of our airports. This tender process is a key contribution to the overall Avinor model,” says Joachim Lupnaav Johnsen, Executive Vice President for Commercial Areas at Avinor.
